As a young child, Brian’s first passions were breakdancing and skateboarding. Born in Grand Rapids, MI, and raised in Texas early on, Brian eventually moved back to Michigan, where he was introduced to the legendary “basement jams” that his two uncles often hosted on weekends. Inspired by those live basement sessions and fueled by his parents’ record collection—stacked with the greatest rock albums—Brian picked up the drums at 12 years old and never looked back.
By the age of 16, with his first band, Loose County Road Commission, he recorded their debut album with Al McAvoy (on reel-to-reel tape) and toured all over Michigan, getting carded at every pub along the way. They shared stages with bands such as Papa Vegas, Milkhouse, and The Verve Pipe.
Over the years, Brian has played in several groups and even performed as a solo act, recording and collaborating with many others, including Klikred, Swineharts, The 8 Seconds Band, and The Atomic Honkeys.
